What’s Next for Dust Devil Mining’s Oregon Sunstone Now That Don Buford Sold His Claim?

Post by PinkDiamond »

This is another one I found while the forum was down and saved for you. Don Buford of the Dust Devil sunstone mine in Oregon has retired and sold his mining operation. Don's a great guy and I hope he and his wife enjoy their retirement while the mine lives on.

There are some awesome sunstone specimens in this one as well as other photos of the mining operation, but AGTA now has this at the bottom of each article so I'm only giving you a small bit of the article and the link to view it at AGTA. I won't be reposting many of AGTA's articles anymore because of it:
This is proprietary content for AGTA and may not be reproduced.
That's a bummer for us but I gave you some of it to whet your appetite, and you'll love the gemstones you see in the article. ;)

"On January 20 this year, ownership of Dust Devil Mining, one of myriad active claims of Sunstone in Oregon, changed hands, with the new guard looking to do what past ones hadn’t: elevate the status of the feldspar mineral in the gemological world.

I wish them good luck. The elevation usually has rested on overkill in production where the gem buyers and resellers can wield their worldly exposure to new buyers AKA designers and production facilites buyers to shift focus to proprietary gem product lines. Made in America generally has been top dollar products without the room to add on 2x 5x values just for availability. The Ponderosa mine up in Oregon has been producing a lot more reds than in the past leasing to miners and several mines around Plush have been getting more greens, blues and multicolors.
The best dollar has been selling fee digging alongside their own operations. Today The Double Eagle Mine (also for sale just like my Virgin Valley Opal Swordfish Mining claims can be had with my guidance) are selling in the Klamath Falls show. I'm not able to go thru the effort to attend and sell anymore and not because i caught the CCPV last time. https://www.facebook.com/DoubleEagleMiningCompany/
