Well, its certainly not as well defined as jawbones with teeth sitting on matrix. Without holding it I've seen white layers of laess stable opal in cavities of more stable opal before. With fossils the shape, not looks like is what matters. With opal the replacement process and later forces alter the cast. Bones are filled more often than replaced from here as far as Ive ever seen. My "Snake Head" was just handed back to me yesterday with a "i dont see a carved quality snake surface here" nice precious opal tho, despite the look that does mean its not a lizard from way back then then. More CTs could prove it, but after the decades, ive gotten over trying to find a Paleo herpetologist to give me access to any numbers on measurements and ratios from species to species. When you cant say, you leave it to a no reserve auction and let the buyer say what it is later. Describing how it looks is not a definite it is. Im reluctant to say anything unless I have a species and the bone eating dogs living around here left little and what was has tooth marks half the time. The old Bone Yard claim was never mapped with a location and a Bonanza memember took the posts down or removed the tags when he figured out where it was out artifacting... like we did. Its in the right layer, but they weather out, you cant dig for them. Teeth are black.
