When I saw the earrings in the lead pic I wondered why they would pair white gold earring backs with yellow gold earrings, but I like them and thought how nicely they would compliment a heart shape ruby pinkie ring Steve gave me years ago, since the rubies in the ring are cut and set just like the ones in the earrings. And while I was contemplating that I scrolled down and saw the piece in the second pic, and all thoughts of the earrings instantly faded as the piece took my breath away, and you'll see why in a minute. Jewelers on the Fairway Charity Golf Outing: July 6 cutoff

On July 27, jewelry industry pros with a passion for golf will gather on the greens of the Manhattan Woods Golf Club in West Nyack, N.Y., for a charity event known as Jewelers on the Fairway. Players need to preregister this week in order to participate; there are a variety of donation packages to choose from ($1,000 and up). Organized by Larry Gordon of LG Diamond Co./Shreeji Jewelry, Samir Mehta of Indigo Jewelry, and Steven Lerche of Goldstar Jewelry, this year’s annual event will raise funds to assist Hope & Heroes in its life-saving work on childhood cancer and blood disorders at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and the CARE’s Ukrainian Crisis Fund. Don’t you just love it when a popular show TV Show intersects with the jewelry world? If JCK contributing editor Karen Dybis’ piece in reference to Netflix’s hit documentary The Tinder Swindler didn’t want to make you tune in and watch this show, we’re not sure how else to entice you except to mention once again that it involves a scam artist impersonating an heir to Leviev Diamonds. (Yes, the company has since sued.) The scammer, Shimon Hayut, altogether defrauded three women he met on the dating app Tinder of $500,000. It’s a riveting how-could-this-happen tale, but the postscript is even better.
