GIA to Close Antwerp Lab Next Month
GIA is closing its laboratory in Antwerp, Belgium on July 31.
"Antwerp, Belgium—The Gemological Institute of America will close its laboratory in Antwerp, Belgium next month.
“This is an operational decision based on the limited demand for services and financial performance that did not support continued operations,” a spokesperson said in a statement to National Jeweler.
The lab is slated to close July 31.
Logistics service Malca-Amit will provide shipping services from Antwerp for submissions to other GIA laboratories.
