Hiya. Welcome to the forum. May you find something to interest you and maybe somebody interested in your goods. Personally Im supposed to be buying back an opal claim from a friend and Im saving my nickles on MORE rough. I didnt buy enough when it was first offered and never sold enough with it on the market too.

Thank you for the kind words and I wish you the best of luck with the claim.
You are lucky to at least buy or own a claim. Here in Ethiopia, it’s only possible to mine if you are from the locality. Therefore all exporters can only buy from others who collect from them creating a second, third or more chain. The exporter is also another chain and there maybe more down the line after Export too.
Giving the opportunity to the locals maybe helpful and fair to grow the local economy but it also created a chain that drives up the price of opals, transfer of knowledge from seasoned miners elsewhere in the world is nearly zero, a lot of high grade opal is either damaged or left behind for fear of tunnel collapse etc.
