there are garnet gemstones that are gorgeous and pricey frm Mali called Mali garnets that are a mix of grossular and andradite, and are sometimes called Grandite garnets.

Just got the mail and had a look at the new Melanite from Mexico. The Mexican crystals have more shine, but the crystals from Mali are formed much better.
Probably won't get pics tonight. The lawn tractor is calling to me, and mamma has the bullwhip ready. LOL
