"Tiny Jewel Box, one of the most historic and beloved jewelry stores in Washington, D.C., is set to expand its Patek Philippe and Rolex showrooms. Both spaces will have their own street-level entrance on Connecticut Avenue, where the store is located.

The move is a bid to solidify Tiny Jewel Box’s status as a top destination for watch collectors, not just in the capital city but in the country as well.

The first phase of the expansion will see a redesign of Patek Philippe’s 1,000-square-foot space, to allow the store to display a greater number of the Swiss brand’s timepieces. The showroom will have an open floor plan with an unobstructed view of the Patek Philippe selections, complete with lounge seating. The space will also include Tiny Jewel Box’s signature decor elements, including a vaulted ceiling and a storefront facade.

Once there, customers can expect to interact with Tiny Jewel Box’s Patek Philippe watch experts, who are required to complete the watch brand’s four-step training program with continuous education, including a week of learning at its manufacturer in Geneva. What’s more, Tiny Jewel Box will have a Patek Philippe–trained watchmaker onsite to assist its patrons with their basic watch maintenance needs.

The Patek Philippe expansion will make Tiny Jewel Box the largest purveyor of the Swiss brand in the Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia region. It’s expected to be completed in May 2021.

Phase two of the expansion will enlarge the Rolex showroom from 400 square feet to 1,500 square feet. The space is expected to offer a new, immersive experience that will include a greater selection of watches, and will even have a dedicated Rolex concierge. The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

“Discerning watch collectors will soon find a deeply enriching brand experience for both Patek Philippe and Rolex at Tiny Jewel Box,” Matthew Rosenheim, president of Tiny Jewel Box, said in a statement. “We will be home to an even more stunning selection of Rolex and Patek Philippe timepieces and a resource of elite watch experts.”

Tiny Jewel Box, which was launched as a 100-square-foot antique jewelry store in 1930 by Roz and Monte Rosenheim, has inhabited a six-story building on the corner of Connecticut Avenue and M Street NW since 1996.
