Meet Harlee

Post by kjsspot »

Meet Harlee the newest member of our family. She's an English Bulldog puppy, 7½ weeks old! She's so much tinier than I thought from her photos.

Too cute! My daughter also just got an English bulldog pup; a brindle I think. I'll have to have her send me a pic of Nelson so I can show you hers since you like them too.

We had a neighbor's English bully named Bozo wander quite a few miles and end up here with a smaller mutt, so I knew they were lost and let them in until we found the owners that night, who hadn't even realized they wandered off. I told him if he ever need to place Bozo somewhere to let me take him since he was so well behaved, and I do get a big kick out of that breed with the snoring. If she's anything like him, or my daughter's last bully, Samwise, make a lot of room for her because she's going to quickly become a tubbo. Too cute, and congratulations on the new member of your family. :D

They're all cute to keep them alive through the teething stage! I just read "Wolf in the Parlor" and he mused they glommed onto us and we let them in. Our Symbiosis was instrumental in civilization, not that they helped us eat the Neanderthals, who were probably cat lovers anyway, but we were an unbeatable tag team.

Thanks all! I'm in love.

Pink - We had a Nelson too but he was a Basset Hound. Just as stubborn as a bulldog though!
And John, that's really interesting! I've never looked up the history.

My sassy little puppy likes to throw temper tantrums. lol And she drew first blood today attacking my feet. But she also gathered a ton of fans at Petsmart and my son's workplace today. PLUS she came up the stairs all by herself! It was a very busy day for her.

Do a search and check on letting her go up stairs by herself while so young. I noticed my daughter wouldn't let Nelson go up and asked why, and she said something about a problem that could develop later or something like that. I asked her for a pic of him, but she seldom checks her email, so I'll have to ask again, and find out about the stairs thing for English bullies.

Nelson is also into the stage where he attacks your feet, and will draw blood if you don't stop him. They get so rambunctious, and don't realize how hard their biting yet. Hope you don't end up having to wear a bunch of bandaids.

I sent my daughter the link, and she thinks Harlee is just adorable with that eye patch. But I did get corrected and told Nelson is actually Olde English Bulldogge, not an English Bulldog, and she sent me a few pics to show you, although I couldn't crop one to make it upload here. At least the 2 best ones did. :)

Nelson is ADORABLE!!! We had a basset hound named Nelson. Easily the smartest and stubbornest dog we've ever had. lol

Harlee is also proving to be smart and stubborn.
