Consumers Reference Guide to Cremation Diamonds

PinkDiamond wrote:I keep seeing articles touting these things as something special, when in fact they're simply overpriced lab-created diamonds, when and if they're actually diamonds. My youngest brother drives for a funeral home so I'll have to find out if they're pushing them, and if they are, direct him to this article from the IIJA. We all need to spread the word. :?

Consumers Reference Guide to Cremation Diamonds

The #1 Most Heinous Scam being perpetrated on consumers in the diamond industry.

The idea of cremation or memorial diamonds is of interest to many people with recently deceased loved-ones due to the desire to hold on to a part of that loved-one after they are gone. Unfortunately, the lack of any kind of government oversight of the cremation diamond industry has left it open to gross cases of misrepresentation or outright fraud. We believe that consumers have a right to know the facts about cremation or memorial diamonds.

Based on 10 years of research and investigation, here are the facts as we know them now:

1- Carbon burns at 1400 degrees F. Cremation furnaces must burn at between 1600 - 1800 degrees F for the cremation process to be complete. Once the cremation process is complete, there is no carbon left in the ashes.

2- No cremation diamond company has been able to prove that any of a specific loved-one’s carbon is ever included in the lab created diamond delivered to a customer.

3- In their own US Patents, companies like LifeGem admit that there is not enough carbon left after the cremation process to make a diamond. These companies do not tell customers that they use outside carbon sources to make these diamonds they sell as “cremation diamonds”.

4- With no verifiable carbon from a loved-one existing in the lab created diamond delivered to the customer, the customer is charged up to 10 times (and more) the normal market price for a comparable lab created diamond.

5- Research has indicated that cremation diamond companies get their lab created diamonds from overseas and deliver to local customers without proof that any carbon from the loved-one is truly in that specific diamond.

6- Cremation diamonds are marketed to people at their most vulnerable time in life. Marketing is carefully constructed toward those grieving the loss of a special loved-one.

7- The cremation diamond companies have been proven to use fake photographs, and false claims of owning their own diamond making presses in their advertising. See the same image of diamond presses used by three different companies above.

8- When investigations are started the cremation diamond companies hide behind “proprietary secrets” legal claims. Tours of places like LifeGem are constructed to make people believe they are seeing the process, when the very equipment shown on the tour cannot make diamonds.

9- There is no government oversight of the cremation diamond industry.

10- Cremation or Memorial Diamonds are a very cruel hoax perpetrated on consumers at their most vulnerable time.
