Blatant False Advertising Dragon glass as opal.

Post by SwordfishMining »

This quote labeling Czech Glass as a precious stone to buy is everywhere in this store!
"Mexican Fire Opal Dragon's Breath glass cabachon - Colors shift from lightening strikes of blues to scarlet red depending on how the light hits it The flashes of color from within the stone are known as the "breath" from which the name is derived. Mexican Opals were first used in jewelry in the early 1900’s to simulate fire/jelly opals. Highly collectible and rare – this lovely stone is a certain conversation piece and will become a cherished favorite."

Historical lies with product misrepresentation is the problem with consumers trusting any seller. Amazon allows it until defrauded people flood them with complaints I guess then the seller has to rename their store probably since none of how any of the social or marketing AI programs are public. You can't even trust the ratings anymore with the fraud being perpetrated on consumers by the crooks running click farms. Then their are the paid Government Trolls from the slave countries leaving negative ratings attacking freedom anyway they can while being the worst dishonest capitalists on the planet. You will not win a price war with a dictatorship based commodity I think from what Ive seen of that attitude.

Thanks for the alert on the Czech glass scam, John. Do you have a link you can provide for us to those claims? Seems like there's a new scam evolving every time we turn around. :?

Well here is the link to the store, https://www.amazon.com/Little-Gem-Girl- ... B00QQG602E, and I wont say they are not buying labeled by the manufacturer with that name. I'll defer to your recent thread on the buying reviews rant. For Amazon being slow to remove fraudulent sellers I go by others complaints of bending rules. And as far as the trolls...Every international operation out of China is approved by the government if not partially owned by the government and we see report after report of the online "shenanigans".

Ok, I'm going to have to say yes and no on that one. She does specify "Synthetic Czech Glass Dragons Breath Fire Glass Amulet Pendant Color Changing Necklace in Antique Silver Charm", so synthetic is in there, and glass is in the title twice, so she's covered that it's not a mined stone pretty well. That said, the thing looks like it has flecks of glitter in it to produce this color change she refers to, and she does keep bouncing back and forth with comments on Mexican fire opal, so the whole ad is confusing. The dragon's breath may be what she's referring to as the 'fire' sometimes seen in Mexican fire opals, but the ad ought to be audited by them because the whole description is unclear. It looks like she's got a bunch of these pieces for sale, so I'm not surprised she uses the same text for all of them. What a mess! And quite frankly, I wouldn't give her 2 cents for one of them.

The whole labeling something with a gemstone name is the problem with me making confusion. You havent seen dragon glass???? Then again you dont do shows fairs etc much. thats what looks purple but does have a red flash, i guess they could have sparkles too as Im always running by going for something natural before its sold out of picked over completely, that in great amounts and easy reach for catching the eye and the variation in play of colors makes people want to select the more appealing one, kinda just like opal. Quality for cost its hard to not make the 3rd world sellers glad they went thru the effort to bringing it to Arizona or all the resellers for buying and selling it. Quantity wise "its available", magpie wise = it does the trick.

There are so many sellers making up weird names for stones, and patterns in opals as well, that it's becoming like the wild west out there; anything goes, with no one having authority to stop this nonsense.
