There are some vintage tools which are highly sought after by leather craftsmen. One of those types were the tools produced by Kelly Tools in New Zealand up until approximately 1982. These were very well made tools with patterns produced by no other company. One thing that set Kelly tools apart from the others was gold plating. Gold being malleable, wouldn't chip and flake off like the chrome plating used on other tools. My small but growing collection consists of 8 of these gold plated beauties.

Wow, they're beautiful! They really cleaned up nice, and you're a good detective finding them. ;)

Pink, the 4 on the left are those that came from Canada the other day. I've had the 4 on the right for a while. Just a quick once over with a dry toothbrush cleaned that gold plating right up.

Looks like you are well organized. I googled Kelly and found that he has released a set of new leather stamps.

Thanks Lydia. I'll contact Noel Kelly this evening & find out how much the complete new set will cost with shipping. Since they will be a limited release, they'll quickly start going up in value. In the meantime I'll continue searching for tools from the original set to add to my collection.

Well, I sprung for the whole set of 39 new Kelly tools. Saved $200.00 + by ordering the set. Gonna take at least 10 days for them to come from New Zealand. I'll post a pic of the set when it gets here.

Thanks again to Lydia for letting me know that Noel Kelly had produced a new set. He's been semi retired for 39 years, but due to popular demand by fans of his tools, he came out of retirement just long enough to design and produce a limited number of 250 sets. I'm hoping I get a low numbered set, but will be happy if i get number 250 out of 250. Each set is numbered 1 of 250 thru 250 of 250.
