Hopefully their August sales will rebound, but I'm sure if they don't we'll hear about it. ;)

Russian diamond mining Alrosa has posted its lowest monthly sales figures of the year to date.

"Its monthly combined rough and polished sales for July 2021 came to a total of $334 million (£242 million).

This is significantly lower than the next lowest monthly sales posted in March, of $357 million (£259 million).

Things had been looking up for Alrosa as it recorded its second best month of the year in June, with sales totalling $410 million (£297 million), bested only by January’s $430 million (£312 million).

The diamond mining specialist will be hoping this dip does not mark the beginning of a long-term downward trend and is no more than an anomaly.

Evgeny Agureev, deputy CEO of Alrosa, did not seem concerned by the news and insists that early August is showing promising signs.

He commented: “In July 2021, jewellery demand remained robust following a strong first half of the year, when it increased an average of 35% and 15% in the US and China (including Hong Kong), respectively, versus the pre-COVID H1 2019.

“Heading into the second half of the year, the retailers note continued optimism among consumers and their increased interest in diamond jewellery.

“This continues to support strong demand for rough diamonds from the midstream, which faced supply shortages as early as May-June 2021, when miners saw their inventories drop to record-low levels.

“At the moment, the pricing policy presents the only solution to balancing demand and supply.

“By early August, our rough diamond prices ...

Hopefully the entire world will believe this is diamond mining also & not just opals doing this sort of thing. I'll tell ya; this is some real CNN depth of fact checking.
Alarosa operations from a FAST search:

ALROSA’s main mining and processing operations are located in two Russian regions: the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Arkhangelsk region in the northwest of the Russian Federation. The company has open-pit and underground mining as well as alluvial operations in Yakutia, and there are only open-pit mines in the Arkhangelsk region.

We mine rough diamonds in open pits, underground mines and placer fields. Rough diamonds are also found in the cold waters of Yakutian rivers and lakes. They are lifted from the bottom by dedicated ships. Removing stones from permafrost is a hard job, but state-of-the-art machines and know-how allow us to achieve success. We need to sort through huge amounts of ore, to find a rough diamond that will later be transformed into a piece of jewellery art. But ore mining is not the entire job; diamonds need to be removed from the ore. Special separating plants are constructed to do this job. The ore is ground and sorted in place, and also undergoes a number of procedures based on the stone’s physical properties.

The company’s production is based on 11 primary and 13 placer deposits. These are grouped according to territory in a number of mining and processing divisions (MPDs), including subsidiary enterprises. There are four MPDs: Udachny, Aikhal, Mirny and Nyurba; and two subsidiaries: Almazy Anabara (including mining and processing capacities of Nizhne-Lenskoye) and Severalmaz. Each MPD consists of several mines, processing plants and equipment stock.

& since they are our enemies hoarding western money... I wonder what environmental regulations apply to their dredging the rivers thru these areas. There were concerns of unrestricted diamond dredging off the Aftican coast, but i dont have time to chase every chicken. I believe the CCP declared war. Taiwan & Japan have to prepare defenses & the press has to fight the commie propaganda. Taken directly from the World News & their Wolf Warrior declaration against anything western.
