Faceting machine part; what to do with it

Post by PinkDiamond »

Guess I'll have to kick off this category sitting here unused all this while, and since it's unused for over a year I'm not even sure if we have any faceters here who might be able to help me with this part I got. Steve found it in an old barn full of so much old junk it would take days to go thru it all, for a hundred bucks, and I got it hoping to attach it to my Hi-Tech Diamond lap so I might learn how to facet some day.

So, can anybody help ID it, and give me any information on it and how I might go about attaching and using it? Not that I have room to put the lap up permanently yet, but the motorcycle is 'supposed' to be leaving the living room soon (I'll believe it when I see it  ), so I may have a chance to move something out of here, and set up the lap so I can actually use it. :)

Anybody? :?:

I had an old Polymetric machine, thought I'd learn to facet on that, but then, I got too sick and too broke and had to let it go....sigh.
Maybe one day, until then, I'll keep on cabbing!

I really appreciate the info, so thanks y'all. Now if I can ever get to a point where the lap can be out so I can tinker with it maybe I can figure out how to mount the mast. If I knew any cutters here I'd take it and ask them how to do it, but alas, I don't know anyone who facets except for OkieOpal in Oklahoma. :?
