Another vintage score. This is a set of dops that I've been searching for since the late 90's. Found them on ebay & got them cheap. Guess nobody else knew what they were. NOS to boot, in the original box with the original instructions. These are an accessory which go with the vintage dop pot I posted on page 2.
To use these, one of the 3 wax pots pictured on the right is placed on the vintage dop pot, and wax is melted in it. The rock to be cut is placed in the wax, and the wax is allowed to cool. Once cool, the wax pot is screwed into the holder next to the box in the picture. This is clamped into the saw vice & slicing begins.
Once finished cutting as many slices as possible, the nub left in the wax cup & the cup are cleaned of all cutting oil. The cup & nub are then placed in a freezer for about an hour. The rock nub will pop away from the dop wax, and the cup is then ready to be reheated for another rock.
The pots pictured with the dop pot on page 2 will also work with this accessory, so several rocks can be readied for cutting at the same time.
