Helpful Charts for Jewelrymakers

Post by PinkDiamond »

Fire Mountain's newsletter today had links to various charts on the site that I thought our jewelrymakers might find helpful, so I'll give you a few of the titles with the links, and will put the link to their resource charts in general at the end, because any beadworkers would likely find useful information in them, as well as those using metal clay and other mediums. I also found one on Zachery-Treated turquoise that I plan to post in gemstones for you, because I was totally unaware of this treatment that has been around for a very long time, and does not involve organic or inorganic substances that change the chemistry of the treated turquoise.

Here are some of the charts that I found useful for things I plan to do. Hope you can benefit from them and/or others at the main link to all the various charts.

Wire Gauge to Inches and Millimeters Conversion

Handy reference to conveniently determine the diameter--in inches or millimeters--of wire gauges. Chart includes sizes from 10 to 38 gauge.

Glue Types and Information

Jewelry-making utilizes a range of glue types, depending on the materials being glued. Some have chemical reactions with only some materials (such as certain plastics or resins). Pick the right adhesive for the job with this Glue Types and Information chart.

All About Clasps

See a variety of clasp styles--from Add A Bead to twister--with closure explanations, use recommendations and other information.

Since there was no link to the newsletter I did a search for 'Charts', and this is what came up. There are plenty of others for jewelrymakers so I hope some of you find them useful. :)
