Tiffany & Co Brings Their 80-Carat ‘Empire Diamond’ to Southeast Asia for the First Time

We've seen this diamond multiple times, but it's so big, so fine, and so rare in size it never gets old, and now it's getting to travel the world so much I'm starting to get jealous of it.

The American jewellery brand intends to dazzle the region with their newly-acquired internally flawless oval diamond—and their first stop is Singapore

"As part of the 2021 Blue Book Collection, Tiffany & Co proudly introduces its newly obtained 80.33-carat Empire Diamond—which was named after the House’s founding city—in an exclusive showcase, before it is placed in a striking design that takes its inspiration from the 1939 World’s Fair necklace.

The Empire Diamond is the largest diamond offered by Tiffany, second only to the famously exclusive and not-for-sale Tiffany Diamond, and its reimagined form as a necklace will be presented as an homage to the inception of the transformed Tiffany flagship store on NYC’s Fifth Avenue.

“What better way to mark the opening of our transformed Tiffany flagship store in 2022 than to reimagine this incredible necklace from the 1939 World’s Fair, one of our most celebrated pieces when we opened our doors on 57th Street and Fifth Avenue for the first time,” said Victoria Reynolds, Tiffany & Co. chief gemologist. “The new necklace perfectly reflects our brand heritage as a New York luxury jeweller, whose founder was known as the ‘King of Diamonds.’”

This rare over-80-carat, D colour, internally flawless, oval centre stone that was sensibly sourced in Botswana, Africa showcases the industry-first approach to diamond traceability that Tiffany abides by and the House hopes to attract the larger international community to admire the diamond just as millions came to view the original necklace’s sizeable aquamarine and exceptional diamond forms in the 1939 World Fair.

With the unprecedented launch of the diamond in Southeast Asia, the American jewellery brand continues to establish its long-standing heritage and legacy of excellence and unrivalled craftsmanship in producing the world’s finest diamonds and gemstones.
