Hearts On Fire x Cross Have The Write Stuff

These are lovely pens. Actually, too lovely, and expensive so I wouldn't be lending it out since too often pens tend to sprout legs and walk away, and you wouldn't want to lose this one.

"From world-class whiskey to…writing instruments! The latest design collaboration to land in my inbox combines the DNA of two New England–based brands: the Boston-based diamond company Hearts On Fire and A.T. Cross, the heritage luxury pen maker based in Providence, R.I. Together they have debuted the Everyday Brilliance collection, a quartet of ballpoint pens with sleek barrels and elegant finishes—and caps crowned with a hand-selected 0.10 ct. Hearts On Fire diamond.

Two iconic Cross ballpoint silhouettes were chosen for the star treatment: the Cross Classic Century and Century II, both of which have been top sellers for generations (a customized version of the latter was made for and used by President Biden on Inauguration Day).

Both pens are available in a polished chrome-plate finish etched with a subtle pattern or a white lacquer with rose gold–plated appointments. The Classic Century is slender, what some might call ladylike, while the Century II has a slightly chunkier profile.

According to Sharon Buntain, chief strategy officer and head of global partnerships for Cross, the partnership is a natural match. “The founder of the Cross company descended from five proud generations of jewelers, and, like Hearts On Fire, we’re passionate about the design process and well-known for our exacting quality standards,” she said in a press release announcing the partnership.

“Now more than ever, we are reminded that it’s the little things in life that bring us joy,” added Stephanie Evans Greene, VP, brand and online retail, Chow Tai Fook North America, owner of Hearts On Fire. “Cross upholds the standards and quality that is first and foremost in the Hearts On Fire brand and they have produced the perfect gift to celebrate someone special, honor a meaningful occasion, or to treat yourself.”

Launched to coincide with Valentine’s Day gift purchasing, the Everyday Brilliance pens are likewise ideal for milestone anniversaries and birthdays, in addition to their being a time-honored go-to for retirement and graduation gifts, not to mention Mother’s Day. Or how about one apiece for a couple headed to the altar?

The pens can also be engraved with a name, message, or ... "
