Mysterious pink manta

I saw this yesterday, and couldn't believe my eyes.

Researchers recently spotted a pink manta ray off the Great Barrier Reef. They named him Inspector Clouseau but still don’t know why he’s pink.



I sent this to some on my list last night, and one guy replied and said it's obvious; it's a girl, and the blue ones are boys.

Very odd. Maybe just blushing from being ticklish, and that other fish is having some laughs by bumping into its funny bone (or, since rays are boneless, I suppose they have "funny cartilage" instead).
