Opal specimen 1.5 kilos for $500 posted

Post by mick »

I just realised my mistake, it was meant to be 500 not 5500
so I just changed the title to make it look new
Folks, the Opal Gods have smiled down upon us.

I have a piece of Opal on Sandstone, that weighs 59.9 ounces or 1.501 Kilograms on my kitchen scales.

It looks like Napoleons hat! I suppose it is
it runs from the crook of my elbow to my wrist, its huge, almost a foot.

Sitting on top of this piece, is color about 8 to 5mm thick, and what color it is!
I think there is 3 ounces of Opal in this piece that I would sell for 300 per ounce.

You could also clean the face and leave it insitu as a specimen.

Its dark now, so no piccies, I wounder is anyone willing to take the risk unseen?

When you see it, which will be about 14 hours after I post this, I know there will be more thanone of you that wants it and this is not an auction, so its first in. The piece itself is about 2 inches thick.

I wont be offering it elsewhere for sale, its an exclusive for you guys.

Wow mick, I may not be able to afford something like that, but that's incredible and I can't wait to see this monster. :!:

Man, that sure is tempting! But my bank account isn't going to let it happen. Sure look forward to seeing it though!

I gave this a tickle on the wheel to show you a bit of what's in it. Just iPad pics.

I think it would make a great
Carving piece as there's many layers of opal and some black in it.
Oops file too large grrrr

My Nemesis. I have to resize everything as i shoot and save RAW files. Gonna make a Calendar someday right? never even use a tripod right? LOL. If I had 500 it would have sold but thats just my intuition. I have been called a spendthift before and stay away from all offers seems to help the most.

If you want to try emailing the pic to me, I'll be happy to try to upload it for you, mick. ... or John if you ever have trouble with any of yours, I'm more than happy to try. I have selfish motives, you see, because I can't wait to see it. :)
