Seems many (but not all) of the images from gingerkid's previous thread have disappeared due to bad links or Photobucket's fiasco. Here are some of my own images from that thread, plus a few new rarer garnets, with apologies for the often fuzzy images (what I see as focused in these tiny specimens, doesn't always turn out so):
majorite (tiny slice, found in a French meteorite):
kimzeyite (very dark color, all-American garnet rarity, from Arkansas):
morimotoite (much darker green in real life, from the Japanese type locality):
manganberzeliite (deep golden, Sweden):
berzeliite (not blue but dark green crystals, Sweden):

Re: Garnet specimens
Wow, r2d, they're fabulous, and so rare I don't think I've seen any of them before. Nice collection, and thanks for posting them for us!!

Re: Garnet specimens
The Opal thread Opal Pic for Opal Lovers on EBAY from the past are all shot full of holes from photo file hosters going under or terms of conditions closing the accounts and deleting all the photos. (Its not funny when i go around to anywhere I've ever been; DopeypsychoGem or his father or gang members went behind me and reedited my info or changed the facts on Wikipedia to spun ideas or made comments about me being criminal instead of them.)

Re: Garnet specimens
Here are a few more tiny ones. More interesting to explore under a loupe than is apparent from my poor photos under LED, but the really rare garnets are unobtainable in sizes that would make photographing with the normal camera under natural light.
momoiite (tiny green crystals, Japan)
calderite (orangish, Norway)
hibschite (near black, N. Ireland)
cryolithionite (massive transparent colorless to pale yellow, Greenland)

Re: Garnet specimens
Restored some images missing due to the PB fiasco. While I'm at it, I'll add a couple photos...
uvarovite (quite large for this variety, Finland)
morimotoite (huge enough to cut a sphere, from a recent Siberian discovery)

Re: Garnet specimens
Nice ones. I hope to go revive whats been lost in my past someday, if the present ever gives me time to go back.
