Almasika Debuted an Elegant New Jewelry Collection

Post by PinkDiamond »

We've seen a couple of the pieces shown in the second slideshow before, but not all of them, and the jewels in the first pics and slideshow are gorgeous. I cut this off at the second slideshow so be sure to use the link to see all the items in both slideshows for yourself. 8-)

"New York—Almasika launched a new collection at the 2021 Couture show and it’s the brand’s most universally appealing yet.

Chicago-based designer Catherine Sarr introduced the “Harmony” range, which features hoop earrings, cuff bracelets, necklaces, and rings in neat, repeating rows of marquise-cut diamonds surrounded in an organic, almost leaf-shaped gold setting.

It is Sarr’s answer to a classic diamond tennis-style bracelet or necklace, or diamond eternity band.

A single iteration of the pattern becomes a diamond stud earring; oversized, it’s a cocktail ring.

The pattern is indeed inspired by the natural world, but a more ephemeral phenomenon—a sound wave—rather than any flora or fauna.

The motif is Sarr’s take on a sound wave’s visual representation and represents the power of sound as a vehicle for healing and aligning one’s energy.

“Sound waves are at the center of this collection,” Sarr said.

“I wanted to explore this state of harmony that stands in contrast to the often imbalanced energy of life around us. When partaking in sound meditation, we can synchronize with the sounds and access a deeper, slower vibration. The movement from dissonance to harmony leaves us with a flowing intentionality that we can carry throughout our days.”

Perhaps that’s why the “Harmony” pattern is even and balanced, representing a steady rhythm rather than the chaotic ebb and flow of actual sound waves.

One can aim for that perfect balance starting at $1,650 retail for a chain bracelet featuring a single 0.19 carat diamond.

Hoops, bracelets, and necklaces come in multiple sizes. The range’s most expensive piece is the largest tennis necklace, which sells for $19,850.

At Couture, Almasika also showed the latest pieces from existing collections, including its range of medallions, gold cowry shell jewels, and comb earrings and pendants. ... "
