Need help from a Gemologist

When you heat a Peridot and it becomes an amber brown, what is it at that point?

I was experimenting in my kiln. lol They're still pretty though. Just not green.

heh It said it could be fired to 1470 for a half hour. So I tested one to see if it could go just a wee bit higher. It's just a 2mm stone. Little guy.

OK, so Peridot is olivine. And I read that some olivine is actually brown. So I just marketed these as amber colored olivine. Shrug. Still pretty to me.

These are 999 Fine Silver with 22k gold around the stone. I like these. I'll be making more with different stones. But, the gold & silver clay didn't stick. When I tumbled them the gold "cap" came off. So I soldered it back on. That works too. :)

Very pretty KJ. Your skills seem to be getting better and better. I hope you can make a living of off these soon.
