Jool Tool

Post by mick »

I just came across this Opal cutting device online via a video. basically its a flat lap, but you cut from below and the rotation speed of the special disk allows you to see what you are cutting.

I think its terrific idea, has anyone used these?

I've seen some of the Jool Tool products advertised, but haven't seen them used or tried them yet. Let us know if you find out more. ;)

I don't understand how that is any better? Maybe for a novice but I see it as a gimmick.... I also saw where you can use it to polish jewelry, etc... meh!

I learned on flat laps first, then genie... I still do all my final polish on my old gemmaker flat laps. In my opinion, I think it's just gimmicky.

Remember, it's not the cost of the tool, it's how you use it!
