It only takes 64 pieces to make a Mandala set and you can get tumbled opals cheap to use as they come with a little selecting for size and shape. I saw what the mass production of opal did to the gem shows sellers of real opals. The industry does not recover from a major competitor coming in to undercut the market with plenty of supply.
