De Beers Moves Auction Business to Botswana
This is a logical move for them to have their auctions in Botswana, but it's too bad their staff in Singapore will no longer have jobs. Here's a brief article on what's changing for De Beers' auctions. ;) De Beers Moves Auction Business to Botswana By Rob Bates | April 25, 2024 "De Beers Group ...

Fighting the fake Rolex epidemic
Beware of the fake Rolexes, which are apparently flooding the market and are harder to spot since the scammers are getting better at faking them. :? https://www.watchpro.com/cloud/2024/04/25/Rolex-Submariner-real-v-fake-with-logo-@-Watchfinder-Co-2048x1468.png Fighting the fake Rolex epidemic Counte...

Anglo American Reportedly Shopping De Beers as BHP Eyes Anglo
Wow, there's a regular tug-of-war going on among these companies, who apparently see De Beers as a black sheep at the moment, and you'll need to pay attention because this can get a bit confusing as to who's trying to buy who. ;) Anglo American Reportedly Shopping De Beers as BHP Eyes Anglo https://...

Audemars Piguet and John Mayer Partner on Limited Edition Watch
This collaboration produced a lovely watch, from what we can see of it, which amazingly enough was posted on "X"! I can't copy things on Instagram or FB, so this really surprised me and I thank them for providing the image, and I was able to copy part of the text. You'll want to use the li...

Piece of the Week: Jacquie Aiche’s Starry Galaxy Necklace
This is a great choice for piece of the week for us since there's opal in this one along with other gemstones. There's a sub-link at the end of the article to see more of her work that you'll need to use the link to access. I don't know about you but I'm loving this one. 8-) Piece of the Week: Jacqu...

JCK Jewelry Agenda: Week of April 28
First up is JCK's Jewelry Agenda for this week, and I love the color of the periwinkle blue chalcedony pendant. The seed bead earrings are lovely, but I must say my sister in Albuquerque got so good at making them that the Native Americans who didn't want to sit there beading their own pieces bought...

Re: Should I continue the Funday Sunnies here?
Thanks so much 8's, much appreciated. The ones from 2 weeks ago made their front page, but the titles aren't changed on last week's yet, if they're going to be candidates for the front page at all, and there are 2 in tonight's funnies that I think they'll turn their noses up at, but 8's likes border...

Diamonds grown without extreme pressures
From science.org, this is pretty remarkable, and will likely be added to their list of claims about being eco-friendly if they can manage to grow them large enough to make them worth cutting, but the sizes they've achieved so far would only have industrial use if any. We'll also have to wait and see...

Medieval ‘Love Token’ Ring Found by “Metal Detectorist”
What a great find, and well preserved for a Medieval ring. It also shows that the 'toi et moi' fad we're seeing today isn't something new, and lovers have used such rings for eons. There's also another ancient item in this, a pendant with a reliquary in it, possibly with a saint's bone fragments in ...
