Thanks!!
Yes, I designed it for a bracelet but I don't have one lol.
I did it just for fun, I don't wear jewelry, maybe I'll get something in case I gift it.
Still don't know what the next project will be but I'll let you know!

Re: Opal polishing... With a twist!
Update: glued it back with some good ol' loctite lol.
Polished again and it's hardly noticeable (I mean to me at least ), as it was a very clear cut.
I'd like to make it into a bracelet if possible. I'll update you once it's done.
Thanks for the help everyone!!

Re: Gave another try at opal polishing...
Hey! Thanks to you both
I will definitely try with 3000 grit next time
I don't think I'll do anything with the stone, as I didn't shape it. It was just for fun

Gave another try at opal polishing...
Good afternoon opalholics :) I tried my hands again at polishing. So I won a nice welo opal for 24$ some time ago. It was very bright and had some beautiful vibrant bars, but only the smaller sides were shown: photo_4_2023-11-13_16-11-13.jpg photo_3_2023-11-13_16-11-13.jpg photo_2_2023-11-13_16-11-1...

Re: First time opal polishing
Hi! Yes, I cut the opal only with the metal files but sadly I couldn't find the grit. I don't think I'll do anything with the opal once I'm finished but keep it as a specimen. I still have to decide tho, as I first need to see it once It's done (probably when I get the dremel next week); I'm a littl...

First time opal polishing
Hello everyone, I have finally gathered the items and some time to try my hands at polishing my first opal, with PinkDiamond's suggestions. First of all, I won at an auction the perfect opal to start: photo_6_2023-10-20_14-10-50.jpg The photo doesn't do it justice but it has some amazing blue flashe...
